HostingShip.com Datacenter Details

HostingShip.com now provides its services from the iWeb datacenter built in 2003, located in Montreal Qc. We own our own servers and through this we are able to provide excellent stability and affordable hosting solutions to our clients.

The iWeb datacenter was specifically built in order to respond to its clientele's specific needs while respecting a series of criteria concerning accessibility, security and availability.

Security and access...

The access control system is composed of a biometric reader to authenticate fingerprints, access card readers and a series of surveillance cameras .

Colocation zone...

The colocation zone offers 22U half racks and 48U full racks. Clients of this service have 24/7 physical access to their equipment via the biometric and magnetic card access control systems.

Dedicated server zone...

The datacenter is divided into two zones. The first is reserved for dedicated servers. Only our datacenter's personnel is authorized in this zone and no clients can go through the gates protecting it without being accompanied by a member of our team. The servers installed in this zone are installed on special shelves custom built to accomodate the cases used for the different MYSERVERNOW dedicated hosting solutions. Some of these spaces are also used for certain individual colocated servers and for our shared hosting solutions.

Power Supply...

At the end of 2004, our datacenter added a 300KVA UPS, and completed, in february 2005,the installation of a new 500KVA diesel generator. Here are some pictures.

Power Generator...

Hydro-Quebec's electricity powers the UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) in case of power loss and a diesel generator is automatically started in less than fifteen seconds via an ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) in order to supply the electricity necessary to the equipment's normal functioning. In order to avoid bad surprises such as frozen conduits during winter (or any other problem), the generator is used to supply energy to the datacenter for fifteen minutes every Monday morning.

Air-conditioning and temperature control...

Temperature control in a datacenter is as important as a reliable power supply. Our datacenter's air-conditioning is supplied by completely redundant 22 ton Liebert units that are linked to independent compressors. These units are used to regularize the temperature and humidity within the datacenter.

Network room...

The dark fibers enter the network room to provide Internet Access to all the clients. Cisco equipments are used for network distribution to all servers and racks.
